Flying beyond 2016

I was more than intrigued when I received my invitation for Christina’s New Year’s Eve party. To me, and to many others I’m sure, the holiday season stopped being fun when my childhood ended. Instead of a time off school, with endless presents, lots of favorite foods and games in the snow with my cousins, it had become a tightly scheduled period, with endless obligations and days of hectic work. Of course, I have to admit there are a few nights that are destined for fun, and Christina’s reception was one of those…Christina is a great cook, with her own catering service, renowned for her amazing parties, always with the best music, the tastiest finger food and the most eclectic cocktails. On the night of the event I had a friendly couple over for some cocktails to warm us up…

What better way to start your evening than with a couple of Le Fizz? Soda, freshly squeezed lime juice, elderflower liquer and Grey Goose vodka are the ingredients of the tastiest cocktail I’ve had in years and it’s also something that one can, actually, try making at home! In the company of great friends, great tunes, and Grey Goose, we danced 2016 away, and, in very high spirits, I made a decision: the new year should find me somewhere outside the city, playing with the snow – and so it did…

Early on New Year’s Day, me and some pals drove to a mountain village and we spent our first day of the year just like one should: away from work, problem free, exchanging presents, trying local delicacies, and, most importantly, enjoying the snow with dear friends like when we were kids (only now with a bit of help from Grey Goose to keep us warm) …
