What happens when seven friends come over for dinner ? Well you drink lots of wine and head to the empty pool. That’s when the problems start!
The usual Sunday get together. Hot summer day, but what better option for exploration than an abandoned hotel by the beach? You can always go for a swim after shooting!
It’s always the weekend. I just need to leave the city. The hot summer weather just amplifies this wanderlust. Thanks to Fanis and Lia, I quenched my thirst for a bit of adventure. They invited me over to their rural house in a small village near Mycenae. I was ready in an instant, packed the camera bag and just left the city behind.
My second visit to Berlin was much different than the first one. The reason for visiting was the second European Instameet. I had never participated into such an event before, so I really didn’t know what to expect. It only took a few minutes after my friends and I landed in Berlin, to realize that an amazing weekend was ahead of us.
This weekend was rather weird. Monday was a non working day for most so all my friends had left the city for an island. And I was left in Athens. Luckily Efi was in town as well so we thought we deserved a small beach exploration and above all a swim.
This habit of getting together with people I have met through instagram and I now consider friends is something that really excites me. I have been busy lately and didn’t have enough free time for instawalks, but this Saturday I managed to squeeze into one.
Instameets are fun, this I’ve learned. Last weekend, the 9th world wide instameet took place and IGers all over the world gathered up to shoot and hang out. Seventeen of us, plus Grappa, showed up for the Athens meet. Our tag was #wwim9_ath and you can check the entries by clicking on it. Here are just some extras I took with the Canon.
I’ve been busy with stuff and so I haven’t posted anything for a while but this Sunday I was determined to make the time and arrange something with my friends. An abandoned military base at the top of a mountain sounded just about right.
I spent my Easter holidays in the same place I have been doing so in the last few years. And it’s the beautiful island of Kythera, a really special place for me. Weather didn’t help much for landscape photography as it had been very dull and grey, with some moments of exception. I tried to get the most out of that!
Our last Sunday gathering didn’t look too promising. We were almost sure that there wouldn’t be much photographic interest in Loutsa plus the boring weather had us almost convinced that this would just be a hanging out only get together. But there is always beauty everywhere. All you need to do is look for it..
