A few weeks ago I received a mail from HM Greece to participate in a private viewing for fashion bloggers & instagrammers of their brand new Conscious Exclusive collection. I am not really a fashion person myself but my friend Maria always inspires me when we shoot together, so I invited her to come with me. Here are some of the shots I took of her with three different outfits from the Conscious Exclusive collection, shot in HM’s showroom in Kolonaki.
For the 11th World Wide Instameet we decided to meet up at the Olympic Sport Complex in Athens on Sunday 22 March. This was my fourth Instameet and I am very happy to see this community grow bigger and stronger every time. The weather didn’t really help much to be outside as much as we would have liked, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Getting out of your comfort zone is always rewarding to your creativity. I got lost inside the complex with @malddim and we had such a laugh. It was great to see old friends and really nice meeting new ones! Here are some shots from the wwim11_athens! After a long winter in the city it was time I went away, to an island I had never visited before. The bad weather didn’t stop me exploring the beautiful island of Kefalonia, but I definitely need to go back, to discover more of its beauty.
This short time that I have been working with Stegi, some amazing things have happened. One of them is that I was given the chance to arrange an Instagram event along the lines of the #empty movement that has been happening in museums around the world.
The team at Stegi (Onassis Cultural Center) is very forward thinking & always edgy in everything that they do, so arranging the event was a breeze. But what’s even better, there are many more digital events to come. I couldn’t be any happier working with such an institution! Here are some of my shots from the event but you can also follow @stegi_occ on Instagram & check #emptystegi for more excellent content!
It’s been a while since the last post, lots of new things, projects & big changes happening in my life at the moment and it’s been exciting to say the least. Last week Fanis, Lia, Maria & myself were having some morning fun shooting at the Athens Hilton, as we were commissioned to create some digital content on their behalf. The hotel was already decorated for Christmas and so we started doing our thing in the lobby, while staff and guests were staring at us, wondering what exactly we were up to. Here are some shots I took with the DSLR.
This past weekend some of us were feeling very wanderlust. But the forest kind. We have been having an extended summer and really needed a change of scenery from the beautiful beaches. So without any planning we all decided to go to lake Doxa in Feneos. The weather was still very sunny and bright but once we stepped into the thick forest there was a different feel, exactly what we had missed!
I visited Karpathos in August for the first time and I absolutely fell in love with the island. Fantastic beaches throughout, strong traditions and positive people. I was wishing to go back since I came back to Athens and finally my wishes came true! I had to travel back again in late September to shoot the fantastic Silene Villas with my new gorgeous friend & owner of the hotel, Popi. Once the work was done we took some time to go swimming and shoot more photos!
So after returning to Athens from a fantastic week on Kythera, I just had enough time to wash some clothes and embark on a journey to the south Aegean. My first stop would be Karpathos. An amazing island with fantastic beaches, picturesque villages keeping strong traditions, delicious food and super friendly people! Here you can see all the non iPhone shots, taken with the dslr, which is not really easy to carry around all the time. For the mobile shots you can always check the #summer_odyssey hashtag on Instagram.
I may be very predictable when choosing summer vacation spots but, truly, I am more than biased. There is absolutely no way I will not visit Kythera at some point during swimming season. This time I wasn’t all that inspired to take many photos, maybe because I have already taken quite a few on this beautiful island, but also because I was with great friends and sometimes this just makes you want to experience the actual moments rather than capturing them.
A late post but it’s never too late for some portraiture! This area in Marousi has been photographed so many times that we knew this photo walk was more about hanging out with each other and having a laugh rather than doing any actual shooting. And then the sun was setting and the summer light became magical. Time to shoot some happy faces!
